With a diverse mixed-media practice, Auriea Harvey creates sculpture in dialogue with mythologies. Often starting with 3D scans from life, her works mutate as they are re-sculpted and combined with other 3D models from her extensive library: models based on her own clay sculptures, freeform works of imagination, and fragments found in museums. Drawing from her experience in net art and video games, she brings personal reflection and character development to her works which are expressed as interactive digital and analogue objects which tell mysterious narratives through their forms. Harvey's work can be found in the permanent collections of the Whitney Museum, Buffalo AKG Art Museum, Walker Art Center, KADIST Collection, RF.C Collection, and Rhizome’s Net Art Anthology. Her videogames and XR works have had international success, including exhibitions at the Tinguely Museum, Basel; the Victoria & Albert Museum, London; the New Museum, New York; and ZKM, Karlsruhe.
